My stepdad has been going through piles of old photos and sorting out the ones he doesn’t want. He had a stack of these cool little old photos he was going to toss and I told him I would take them to do craft projects with. He seemed a little puzzled as to why I would want to do that. Obviously he’s never heard of Tim Holtz!
When my step-dad recently had a birthday I thought I would put some of the photos to use and made him a cool photo collage as a gift.

I had a nice square piece of plywood that a used Mod Podge and a foam brush to adhere torn pieces of scrapbook paper with different textures to it. Next step I glued down an assortment of photos that looked like they were perhaps from a Yellowstone road trip.
Once these layers dried, I stamped vintage looking items using an old Stampin’ Up! set called “Travel Post” and an additional postage stamp image by Impression Obsession, Inc. For all these images I used StayzOn solvent ink pads. Note: Let it dry well before next step or it will smear like my luggage image did!
I freehand cut out a monogram M and layered it for my stepdad’s name and added a vellum quote out of my ancient stash of craft goodies. All items were adhered and then sealed over with Mod Podge. I then added a few metal accents out of my Tim Holtz stash and other miscellaneous items.
