Groovy Greetings From My Craft Stash!

May 12, 2021 by TR Leave a Comment

How many of us have so many crafting goodies that we forget what we have? I’m raising my hand right now! As a crafter for well over 20 years now I have certainly accumulated a bit of stash! I do love running across something I have forgotten I had! When the need arose to make my step-dad a birthday card I went rummaging and came across a box full of goodies from Kindred Stamps. They periodically do some awesome boxes in different themes that usually come with a stamp set, stencil, paper and other matching goodies! This particular box was their Teen Detective theme and it seemed like just the thing for my mischievous step-dad. (Rumor has it there’s a new box coming soon! Check their FB page for details!)

Ingredients:
Kindred Stamps Teen Detectives (retired) & matching stencil & washi tape
Recollections brand cardstock & envelope
Ranger Distress Inks
Colored Pencils
Alphabet set by Stampin’ Up! (retired)

Note: I am not an affiliate, I am not being paid for any of these links, I am merely a fan!

I taped down my stencil on my card-front and used the Distress Inks to blend in the tie-dye pattern. Once completed, I gently lifted away the stencil and cleaned things up.
I stamped part of the greeting and matted it before adhering to the card front. I also added random blobs of glow in the dark glitter (from the Kindred box!)
For the inside of the card I stamped the greeting and all the teen detectives who then got colored in using colored pencils. I used an older Stampin’ Up! set for the happy birthday and finished by adding a little matching washi tape to complete the look. My step-dad got a kick out of the card so I will call it another success!
