A few weeks ago we had a visit from my baby sister and her family for a few days. It was the first time we finally got to meet her kids! Long story that I’m not going into, but needless to say twelve years is way too long between visits!
One of the most exciting things was to share my craft room with my sister and her oldest daughter. I just recently helped one of my other sisters with a craft too so it was fun to share again! My niece was so excited! She loves to craft and exclaimed to my sister how cool my room was. When I asked if she’d like to make some cards her smile and head nod yes was immediate!
I rummaged thru my stash and found a pack of paper that had matching stickers. I cut card bases for her, showed her how to use the tape runner and then set her free! When her mom asked why she was shaking she exclaimed, “I’m just so excited!” This made aunty’s heart very happy to hear!

She worked with great focus until bedtime and then continued her crafting the following evening when I introduced her into stamping. Like me she ended up wearing some ink but she was delighted with all the cards she made for her loved ones. We paired up some envelopes and I sent her home with her remaining paper pack.

This was a lesson in how powerful it is to share your passion. It made me us both happy and I loved seeing her joy! I had forgotten how much fun crafting with kids was. Years ago I had five of my other nieces over for a craft day and while it was a lot of work, we all had a blast. Crafting brings me joy and it’s nice to know it helps others feel that too!
